Olive tapenade

Olive tapenade is one of my favorite sandwich spreads. Powerfully flavorful, intensely aromatic: it is vastly superior to mayo, ketchup, mustard…and maybe even hot sauce!


8 oz Kalamata olives

4 oz green olives

2 garlic cloves

2 tbsp capers

2 tbsp basil pesto

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp robust olive oil


Add all ingredients to a food processor, crush in the garlic cloves. Blend until desired chunk-size is achieved. Serve spread on bread and sandwiches. Amazing!
