Caramel sauce

This was an amazing addition to my apple pudding! This is the real deal, not some easy brown sugar concoction.


0.25 cup sugar

1.5 tbsp butter

2 tbsp heavy cream

pinch of salt


Sprinkle the sugar into a small pan. Heat on medium-high, until it starts to melt and brown. Heat to desired darkness. The darker the caramel, the more bitter it becomes.

Heat cream to warm it in the microwave.

Add in cream and stir well. Watch out, the sugar is very hot, this will sizzle and splash!

Mix in butter and salt.
